Improvisation & Musicality

This course focuses on technique, musicality, composition and improvisation in tap dance.

Over the course of 10 coaching sessions, we will work on developing and strengthening individual skills while deepening our understanding of tap dance as both a musical and expressive art form.

The sessions are dedicated to the interplay of technique, musicality and improvisation. We will refine precision and expression through technical exercises, explore musical structures and rhythmic concepts, and develop strategies for creative composition. Improvisation plays a key role – not as an end in itself, but as a natural expression of a solid technical and musical foundation. Through targeted exercises and musical interaction, we will create a seamless fusion of these elements.

The course is accompanied live by Thomas on drums. Recommended for all tap dancers at intermediate level and above.
